Beach Blanket

The beach blanket is designed to provide a comfortable, soft surface on which to rest while at the beach. Obviously, these are blankets are designed so that they won’t be permanently damaged by sand. There are a number of benefits to having a beach blanket, from providing a comfortable place to lie down on and get a tan by the shore, to providing a surface for picnics or games.

Some people choose to use just their towel for protection from the sand; however, the towel gives less space, and does not enable something like a picnic, while a beach blanket does. In addition, the beach blanket is effective not only on sand, but can work well on other surfaces that can be irritating to the skin such as grass. 

If you live in an area where you’ll be traveling to the beach often, it is a good idea to keep a beach blanket or two in the trunk at all times, just in case. Doing so will also give you more opportunities to take an hour or so and relax by the beach.
