Fleece Blanket

A fleece blanket is simply a blanket made out of fleece material. This material provides the benefits of being soft, in fact providing a unique softness that feels different from other blankets. Fleece is also relatively inexpensive to produce, and as a result blankets made from this material typically don’t cost a great deal.

While less expensive and easier to clean than, say, a wool blanket, the fleece blanket also tends to be thinner. They can be a great in providing a soft blanket to cuddle with, but for sheer warmth, they are probably not the thickest or best insulated.

However, because of their light weight and portability, a fleece blanket can be a great item to carry around the house in the morning when it’s a bit chilly. And because they can be thrown in a washer/dryer and don’t require dry cleaning, as many blankets do, they require a little less care than the average blanket.

Fleece is a man-made material consisting mostly of polyester. Typically with fleece blankets, one side is soft while the other side is smooth. Fleece is also used to produce such items as sweatshirts, hats, gloves, vests, and so on.
