Solar Blanket

The solar blanket is something you will need if you are going to have a pool. This blanket is made from a floating polyethylene material—it is designed to insulate the pool surface and allow light to pass through into the pool.

As with other aspects of the swimming pool, the solar blanket requires certain care. You will want to have a reel so that you can easily put on and remove the blanket from the pool, as well as store it when not in use. During winter, you will want to store the solar blanket permanently in a sealed bag in your garage or shed.

The solar blanket can be a little tricky to clean—there is a cleaner specifically made for this purpose, and you will want to find that. This cleaner is also safe to use while the blanket is one the pool, as long as you take proper precautions. Remember also to keep the solar blanket off for a few hours after you have treated the pool.
